Week 3 Reflection

Doing the Code.org Block Party activity was a surprisingly fun way to get introduced to coding. At first, I felt nervous because coding has always seemed really complicated to me. The idea of building a program from scratch was intimidating, especially since my past experiences with coding in school were stressful. However, the tutorials were very helpful and easy to follow, which made it possible to learn step by step. I appreciated how the program guided you through building the blocks and explained the mechanics clearly, so I could actually understand what I was doing instead of just guessing.

Once I started creating my own dance party, it became really exciting to experiment with all the options. I loved being able to choose the songs, dance moves, and even different animal characters. It was fun to see how the blocks worked together to create something interactive, and it made me realize that coding isn’t just about apps or complicated programs, it can be creative and playful too. Overall, this activity helped me see that coding is more approachable than I thought, and it encouraged me to continue exploring how technology can be used in creative ways.
